Choices, Choices
So, I’m graduating soon, and I still have no car (thanks to the drunk kid). Recently I’ve decided that I wanted to pursue my dream of racing and working with cars and to take it all to the next level. I’ve been infatuated with Drifting, Time Attack and Autocross and also want to get involved with Formula Drift and maybe a Local Track down here.
So I’ve been thinking of what I should do.
Option A: Option A is the standard RWD/AWD Manual Daily Driver that I take onto the track here and there. Benefits would include but not be limited to; all the money would be going into one car and I wouldn’t have to worry about buying a trailer or anything like that. I’d have a place to put it and my finances would be a little easier to deal with when taxes roll around. Downsides would include but unfortunately aren’t limited to; insurance rates being higher when the insurance company somehow finds out I race my daily, any damages obtained from my own accidents on the track wouldn’t be covered and if the car was totaled I’d be done for.
Option B: Option B means I’d have two cars. The first is a daily, car or truck it wouldn’t really matter and I’d buy a separate car for track use. The benefits of this are the fact that whatever happens to a track car happens…nothing a little elbow grease and duct tape can’t fix! All or most of my car money would be going into track mods and insurance for the daily since I don’t have to worry about insurance on a track car. Downside is the fact that I’d have to buy a car/truck that could tow a trailer (I’d have to find a trailer too) and and all the jazz that comes with that.
Those are the only two options I’ve really been able to come up with so if you can think of any others please let me know haha.
